The Master of Science in Forensic Science is a two year intensive and immersive program the degree is awarded by MAHARAJA AGRASEN UNIVERSITY, Baddi H.P. A first-of-its-kind course that strengthens and sharpens skills in handwriting expertise, cyber crime, computer forensics, crime scene analysis, crime photography, and related fields. Students play a major role in processing real forensic cases under the direction of institute professors. Graduate students are involved in all phases of the cases—from initial recovery and documentation in the field to processing, photographing and analyzing the remains in the laboratory.
The objective of the course is to make the students familiar with the field of forensic science which includes investigating a crime by applying forensic science principles. Forensic Science uses the latest technology & collects evidences such as traces of blood, hair, finger prints etc. Forensic experts work closely with police & provide evidence. The expertise of forensic science can be utilized for civil cases related to providing validity of signature on a will etc. In MAU we are also in conversation with the former DGP of H.P. and CBI Director who have consented us to share their experiences & knowledge will guide us for further developments in the field.
Some other objectives of the course are:
- To impart students a strong theoretical, practical and experimental foundation and thereby gaining specialized skills that would empower them in scientific crime investigation methods.
- To prepare experts for forensic services.
- To understand, appreciate and practice highest standards of professional, environmental, social and work ethics.

This course has been designed for meeting the demand of the growing need of experts in the field of forensic activities, resources and programmes, forensic psychology, psychiatry, anthropology, entomology, pathology, odontology, toxicology besides information and digital forensics, forensic technologies, forensic nursing and forensic labs, photonic solutions and forensic laws.
